Unleashed Series Overview:
Week One: Unleashed | Acts 1:1-8; 17:6 [Jan. 8]
Over 2000 years ago, God unleashed His Holy Spirit, and the Church was born. That church stood before religious and political leaders, spread in size and impact in spite of persecution and influenced the world for good, bring to light the Lord Jesus Christ and salvation to all who call upon His name. It is time for today's Church to become like that first New Testament church.
Week Two: Kaleidoscope | Acts 1:8; 10:1-48 [Jan. 15]
From the very beginning, the disciples were fulfilling the plan of God to go into all nations, to all people groups. Throughout scripture, God makes it very clear that Jesus and His salvation message are available to everyone, and the Church should be leading culture in advancing diversity.
Week Three: Innumerable | Acts 2:41-47; 4:4 [Jan. 22]
As the church continued to grow in Acts, eventually there were too many people to count. The Church has been empowered by the unleashing of the Holy Spirit to reach the multitudes one by one. As we continue to spread Jesus' message, God will continue to add to His kingdom in ways that are beyond our wildest dreams.
Week Four: Pandemonium | Acts 4:13-22 [Jan. 29]
The world will not and cannot understand whenever God is working in our midst. We see God working through the church in Acts in such a powerful way that it created pandemonium--and excitement and a commotion--that the authorities did not know what to do. The early church confronted culture, turning the world upside down.
Week Five: Shaken | Acts 4:23-31 [Feb. 5]
The church in Acts viewed the power of prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit as essential in seeing God work in miraculous ways. The power evidenced in the early church whould be evidenced in the 21st Century church. Our challenge is to get back to seeing the Holy Spirit move in our lives and in our ministries as He did in the first church.
Week Six: Lavishness | Acts 4:32-37 [Feb. 12]
The church in Acts had the ability to see the needs of those around them and they were willing to give up anything and everything to see the Church impact the world. The Gospel spread in the first century by believers who gave lavishly and sacrificially. The Church today has the same call as did that first church.
Week Seven: Hazardous | Acts 5:17-42 [Feb. 19]
The Christians in the first church, despite enormous risk, despite threats and severe floggings, continued to preach and teach the Good News of Jesus. We must understand there will always bee risk and danger. In fact it's a part of our calling. Yet, it's in this danger that we exercise even greater boldness than ever before, because we know that God is with us.
Week Eight: Kinetic | Acts 13:41-52 [Feb. 26]
When the Word of God was unleashed, no one could stop it. Though it was rejected by some, that rejection didn't slow down the Gospel at all. God's sovereign plan for all the world to hear the Gospel will stand. It's a kinetic power that, once unleashed, cannot be stopped, though many might try.
Week Nine: Unequivocal | Acts 20:22-24 [Mar. 9]
The first century church had one overarching task..."testifying to the Gospel of God's grace." The Church has always had an undeniable calling of the Holy Spirit to go into the entire world, regardless of hardship, and to preach the message of salvation to a lost and dying world. may we, togetehr, finish the race, complete the task, stand up when others are falling, remain focused on the purpose and call upon the Church to turn the world upside down!
